Our "responsible journey" begins here, in the town of Mbour where the hotel Africa Thiossane is located (80 km south of Dakar). The hotel has been operating in close collaboration with the Italian-Senegalese Association Africa Chiossan which has its headquarters in Italy (In Wolof language "Chiossan" means "culture" and "tradition").
The Africa Chiossan association is currently involved on events of various kinds with the purpose of building up a cultural center in order to retrieve the African traditions and train African and European artists.

Take a responsible journey means to be agree with the idea that the maximum agmount of the benefits generated will go to the local population. Responsible Tourism is indeed a way to travel which avoids as much as possible the social, economic and cultural damages derived from the mass tourism.
